Certified Dog Trainer in Annapolis, MD

You already know the walk. Scanning ahead for other dogs. Crossing the street before he or she sees them. Coming home tense.

Or it's people — the delivery driver, the guest at the door, anyone who gets too close.

Or it's the food bowl. The bone nobody can walk past. The dog who freezes when you reach for the toy.

Or it's two dogs under your own roof who can't be in the same room anymore.

That's the work I do. I'm Adam Hartman — I train dogs and their parents in Annapolis, Anne Arundel County, and across the DMV. I specialize in aggression, reactivity toward dogs and people, anxiety, food aggression, resource guarding, and conflict between dogs in the same household.

I come to you. We work in your home, on your street, in the parking lots and parks where the behavior actually happens — because that's where it has to hold.

For dogs whose behavior needs faster, more concentrated work across multiple settings in a single day, I also offer Concierge Dog Training.

Guarding and household conflict aren't walk problems, so we work them where they live: at the bowl, in the doorway, on the couch, in the room where it keeps happening.

I train the dog and the parent equally. That's the whole idea behind the name. You'll leave each session knowing what to do, not just watching me do it.

I trained for six months at Tarheel Canine in North Carolina, one of the country's serious working-dog schools, and worked hands-on at Woof Dogs in Florida alongside one of the top trainers in the state.

Sessions are $175, billed after each visit. First session runs 1.5 hours, follow-ups an hour. No packages, no long-term commitments. I can't know how many sessions your dog needs until I've met your dog.

If the behavior is running your household, call. 443-808-7373
